I took this image on a Sierra Club excursion to the New York Botanical Gardens.  It was the first time I had been to the Botanical Gardens in many years.  The weather was delightful and the company terrific.  I have gone back many times.  The gardens are beautiful and inspiring.

I was drawn to this sunflower because I liked the way it seemed to be stretching out its petals to embrace the sun.
