American Album social media.jpg

I am relatively new to photography, having taken it up in my retirement.  The subjects which interest me are pretty eclectic – street photography, nature photography, portrait photography and more recently macro and bird photography.

The past 4 pandemic years have really put a crimp in my ability to indulge in this favorite pastime.

I am glad that the focus of this exhibit, American Album, is on what America means to each of us.

My image, Smile for the Camera, was taken at the 2019 Mermaid Parade in the months prior to the Covid outbreak. If you are not familiar, this parade is a colorful, raucous celebration of art and music that marks the beginning of Summer at Coney Island, NY.

It reminds me of the freedom of expression we enjoy in the United States and I am thrilled that venues like this are opening up again.
